- I think he was talking about the marketability of the OS, not the
- applications. The example of Linux rather seems to confirm this more than
- contradict it. Perhaps Ritchie (or whoever said it) was even speaking of
- the original UNIX and its direct heritage, as opposed to the many workalikes
- that exist today.
